Thanksgiving might be over but we’re now bracing ourselves for Christmas shopping hell. To lighten our spirits, H&M and Wes Anderson have come together to create a holiday short, and what better way to celebrate than with an Anderson-style Christmas? Compared to the auteur’s typically vibrant color schemes, the palette here is a little more subdued, but his penchant for quirky dialogue and symmetry still ring true to the director’s signature hallmarks.
The holiday short centers on a group of passengers and a train conductor Ralph (Adrien Brody) who are rerouted due to heavy weather conditions. Since they will arrive later than their expected time, Ralph hosts a Brunch and invites all of the passengers to join with him. In Anderson fashion, the camera pans to different passengers that have a gift box with an image that implies their destination; the youngest of the bunch is, of course, an unaccompanied minor.
