‘Get Out’ | Directed by Jordan Peele

Get Out director Jordan Peele became the first African-American writer-director to earn $100 million with his debut movie. The horror film received near-universal praise for its originality and its critique of the horror genre. The film was in competition with Logan and Kong: Skull Island and producers expected $24 million on the first weekend. However, Get Out managed to pull over $30 million and so far has earned an impressive 9-digit figure compared to the film’s meager $4 million budget.

This is Blumhouse’s second horror film that has managed to surpass $100 million. The first film was Split.
