We are deeply honored to work in a field in which we can call so many incredible women our peers. And we are thankful that many women such as Ava Duvernay, Sofia Coppola, and Kathryn Bigelow are receiving worldwide recognition. But it is our firm belief that our industry still has a lot more work to do in achieving equality of opportunity. As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we celebrate some of the women in film whom we believe to be the unsung heroes and rising stars of our generation. While this list is nowhere near definitive, we hope that on International Women’s Day and beyond, you’ll take a moment to get acquainted with these 30+ talented women in film.
