EDITORIAL INTERN

We are seeking a writing-obsessed intern to dive in and get their hands dirty learning the ropes while working closely with a passionate, experienced editorial team in a start-up environment. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a publication that is leading a paradigm shift within the world of film journalism with compelling storytelling, wild anecdotes, and striking photography.

The ideal candidate has a knack for identifying interesting stories, a passion for the written word, and a love of film and culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Assisting with brainstorming stories, maintaining our editorial calendar
+ Assisting with research and fact-checking for stories
+ Assisting with proofreading and copyediting
+ Contributing weekly stories/posts
+ Occasionally assisting with social media (posting, monitoring)

REQUIREMENTS:

+ A proven interest in culture and the visual arts (especially film)
+ Strong research and writing skills
+ Enthusiastic, hyper-organized, self-directed, open-minded, and a critical thinker not afraid to ask questions
+ Previous internship experience
+ MUST be available a minimum of 15-20 hours a week
+ MUST commit to a minimum of 3 months
+ MUST be a college student receiving college credit for internship
+ MUST have own laptop
+ MUST have reliable transportation (reasonable public transportation costs will be reimbursed)

BONUS:

+ Previous experience with content management systems, particularly WordPress
+ Social media experience
+ HTML/CSS experience
+ Basic graphic design ability (Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign)

SOCIAL MEDIA / MARKETING INTERN

We are seeking a savvy, go-getter intern to dive in and get their hands dirty learning the ropes while working closely with a passionate, experienced editorial team in a start-up environment. You will have the opportunity to shape the social media identity of a publication that is leading a paradigm shift within the world of film journalism with compelling storytelling, wild anecdotes, and striking photography. 

The ideal candidate has a knack for identifying engaging content, a passion for social media, an eye for marketing trends, and a love of film and culture. There may also opportunities to contribute editorially and attend events to capture content.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Assisting with creating and scheduling social media content across a variety of platforms
+ Assisting with community management (engaging, interacting, and monitoring)
+ Researching social media trends
+ Assisting with reporting and identifying strengths/weaknesses
+ Interface with editorial team to ensure key content is being posted, aligning with our editorial calendar

REQUIREMENTS:

+ A keen aesthetic, and proven interest in culture and the visual arts (especially film)
+ Strong research and writing skills
+ Extremely thorough, with an understanding of the importance for accuracy and timeliness
+ Enthusiastic, hyper-organized, self-directed, open-minded, and a critical thinker not afraid to ask questions
+ Previous internship experience
+ MUST be available a minimum of 3 days a week (preferred 20 hours a week)
+ MUST commit to a minimum of 3 months
+ MUST be a college student receiving college credit for internship
+ MUST have own laptop and smartphone
+ MUST have reliable transportation (reasonable public transportation costs will be reimbursed)

BONUS:

+ Basic graphic design ability (Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign)
+ Previous editorial experience
+ Photography experience
